Chris Baldwin

Chris Baldwin is a sometimes college student, a most of the time pop culture geek, and aspiring comic book writer. He loves: movies, comics, good television, (no Snookis or Kardashians please and thank you) short fiction, long fiction, Stephen King’s fiction, all things Nintendo, music, standup comedy, sushi, and beer. He is from the south; Midway, Kentucky to be exact. GO CATS!! He’s required by state law to say that. He spent the last few years attending college at Western Kentucky University where he studied pop culture, creative writing, and film. Sometimes, he turns off the geek and enjoys the great outdoors, but only sometimes.

Greetings fellow zombie lovers and fans of CARL GRIMES!?! Wait, wait, wait…there’s no way that just happened, is there? Not only was Carl not annoying in this episode (a miracle in and of itself) he was actually kind of badass, useful to the group, and he never wandered off or

The other two genre TV series I review for Screen Invasion, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, both feature wildly fantastic elements such as dragons and zombies. However, both TWD and GOT ground these elements in a grimy aesthetics and grim realism. Dr. Who, on the other hand….does not,

**This section of the season 2 wrap up covers The Prince of Winterfell and Blackwater. The next section will deal specifically with the season finale, and I’ll tackle some season 3 speculation. It should be posted sometime this weekend. Enjoy!**  This recap is even uglier in the day light. Game

**Doing something a wee bit different this time. Due to various mitigating factors these past few weeks, I’ve fallen way behind on getting these recaps out in a timely fashion. So this week everyone is getting a 2 for 1 special** This recap is going to need a moment….that was

This recap doesn’t believe Robb Stark can’t be killed….anyone can be killed. The Ghost of Harrenhall was without a doubt the most magic-saturated outings of Game of Thrones thus far, featuring dragons, warlocks, an evil shadow assassin, and some good ole fashioned alchemy. There is even a reference to the

This recap is going to give birth to a grotesque shadow monster in a cave…..so…..be aware of that. Last week, I mentioned that season 2 had gotten to the top of the roller coaster, story-wise, and with this week’s episode, Garden of Bones, it took off down the slope with all

You can just call this recap Brienne if you like…it’s no lady. I’ll begin recapping What is Dead May Never Die by addressing the burning question on everyone’s minds: just how tall is actress Gwendolyn Christie? The wise and all-knowing Google has her at 6’3, but walking along side Lady Stark

This recap is not Ned Stark, it knows how this game is played, and if you ever threaten it again, it will throw you into the sea. Let’s all take a moment to reflect upon how badass Tyrion was this week…and not think about how late this recap is! Seriously though,

This recap will be dark and full of terrors….and really, how could it not be? The North Remembers was full of incest, blood sport, Shae’s way too accurate sense of smell, and of course, dead babies. The types of things writers who recap NCIS or Dancing with the Stars never,

All together now: HOLY SHIT!!! Greetings Zombie lovers and fans of: death, destruction, burning barns, walkers chowing down on unimportant characters, vehicular zombie slaughter, a prison in the not too far off distance, and of course Michonne!  That is how you do the finale for a TV show about zombies’

Before we begin exhuming this week’s episode of The Walking Dead, I’m going to need everyone to do three things: 1) go put on a cheap Hawaiian shirt, 2) a bucket hat, 3) then go to your fridge, grab a beer, and pour one out for Dale Horvath.  However, if

HBO is pulling out all the stops to make sure that the second season of Game of Thrones is going to be huge, ratings-wise.  They  release a new trailer every week, that is better than one released the previous week, and reveals more footage.  People are starting to anticipate the release of these trailers the same

If you read my Walking Dead post-mortems, you know I’m just as interested in what goes on behind the scenes as I am in the content of the individual episodes.  I’ve written quite a bit in my first three posts about the behind the scenes drama that lead to Frank Darabont being
