Breakdown Blu-ray Review

Paramount Presents continues to release some great films from the Paramount vault. Breakdown is my favorite film to be released as of yet.

Kurt Russell is fantastic as the lead in this taut thriller. I remember first seeing this film in theaters. My friends and I loved it.

I’m a fan of Alfred Hitchcock. At the time I didn’t realize how many similarities Breakdown has with his films. I could actually see Hitch directing this film if he were around during this time.

Kathleen Quinlan is perfectly cast as Russells wife. JT Walsh is one of the creepiest bad guys you will see. It’s definitely his scariest role.

I really enjoyed the film and hope that you get a chance to see this film if you haven’t yet.

I was very impressed with the sound and picture quality. The time put into the restoration did a fabulous job.

Synopsis
Kurt Russell is Jeff Taylor, headed toward a new life in California with his wife Amy (Kathleen Quinlan). When their car dies on a remote highway, a seemingly helpful trucker (J.T. Walsh) offers Amy a ride to the local diner while Jeff waits with the car. Then Jeff discovers his vehicle was deliberately tampered with, and by the time he gets to the next town, his worst fears are about to come true.
