Homer And Marge To Separate In 27th ‘Simpsons’ Season
In an interview with Variety magazine, executive producer of ‘The Simpson’ Al Jean says that in the 27th season premiere of the show Homer and Marge will be separating.
Say it isn’t so!
“It’s discovered after all the years Homer has narcolepsy and it’s an incredible strain on the marriage,” executive producer Al Jean said in an interview with Variety. “Homer and Marge legally separate, and Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who’s voiced by Lena Dunham.” (x)
A huge part of me thinks this might be some kind of fluke. Remember when Brian “died” on ‘Family Guy’? It only lasted a few episodes before he was brought back via time machine.
I don’t think this separation between Americas favorite couple will last long. However, if this IS true, then it will definitely bring a new feel to the show. The Simpsons isn’t one to stray away from families taking a different direction in life. After the loss of Ned Flanders’ wife, the show proved that it can sustain numerous seasons going forward with a significant character loss.
Either way, I will be tuning into the premiere in the Fall to catch a glimpse of what life is like with the Simpsons having a split family.
