Marvel Editor-in-Chief Discusses What’s In Store For The X-Men
What will in the cards for the X-Men when the dust settles and “Secret Wars” comes to a close?
In an interview with Comic Book Recources, Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso talks a little about what to expect from the “X-Men” franchise once “Secret Wars” blows over.
“…to build an entire new world for the characters — to create a shared universe within the X-books that’s set off by a huge event/incident/surprise. At that point, they’re going to introduce a new team that feels unlike anything you’ve seen before. It’ll be… “extraordinary,” says Alonso.
This isn’t the first time that Marvel removed primary character from main universes and put them in separate ones. Why? Because Marvel loves and excels at the concept of different dimensions and universes.
An example of this was in the 1996 crossover story arc, “Heroes Reborn,” where the Avenger, Fantastic Four, the Hulk, and Doctor Doom where transported to a pocket universe.
More details will be revealed as “Secret Wars” commence and then we’ll see who’s left standing and what their post war plans will be.
