If you’re like me, then you are probably still freaking out over the news that we’ll be getting 20 new Star Wars book this Fall to lead us into The Force Awakens. Even though most of the titles and such are kept under wraps, the title that has been getting the biggest talk would be Aftermath. Aftermath would be the first canon Star Wars novel that takes place right after Return of the Jedi. Seemingly this would make fans super excited, while also terrified. The quote on the cover says, “The war is not over.”… don’t mind me, I’ll just be stress eating till its release.

Since then, everyone has been pondering the same question: “Who is writing this thing?!”. We now know that the author will be Chuck Wendig and based on his Twitter alone, I know he’s the perfect guy for this! I mean, look at this tweet from last year:

Dear Internet: I wanna write a licensed STAR WARS novel. Please make this happen. *squeezes Internet hard enough to make wishes fall out*

As far as any info or cover art, has just released some important information regarding Aftermath. Their description in the blog post alone has me way too excited. The Death Star and X-Wing? September needs to hurry. Here’s a little snippet from the blog post and also the beautiful cover.

Obviously I wish I could tell you more about the story, but I can’t just yet. What I can reveal is that you will be introduced to a sweeping new cast of characters, along with a fan favorite from the films. And who knows what other familiar faces will pop up along the way? And once you’ve seen The Force Awakens in movie theaters, you may find that certain names and places in Aftermath have a relevance you never knew–so keep your eyes wide open!

Star Wars: Aftermath is scheduled to hit all bookstores and Kindles this September.
