Zack Snyder, DC/Warner Bros. have been keeping all major info about Superman v Batman: Dawn of Justice close to the chest. As Entertainment Weekly puts it, “The mark of a [good superhero-franchise director] is how he knows to stop monologuing before he gives away too much of his plan.”

Say what you will about Snyder and the clustercuss of what we already know about his next superhero movie, but you know he’s saving the juicy tid-bits until the very end. Or at the very least, he’s saving them until it’s time to start hyping us all up for the marketing blitz. That more or less begins today…with the reveal of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

Take a look for yourself:

“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure,” says Snyder, “other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course. […] Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”

I can only guess Snyder is referring to Luthor’s xenophobia, or the guy’s own brand of jingoism. And who would blame him after Superman and Zod’s fight laid waste to an entire city, and almost the world. Luthor is a charismatic figure who will more than likely rally people to his side against an overpowered alien while working on his own nefarious plans to gain more power of his own.

As for Eisenberg, we know he can act. We know he can portray a ruthless bastard who earns obscene amounts of money. The bald head only cements our confidence in his acting abilities. This is probably the first bit of news we don’t feel even one percent apprehensive about.
