Marvel: New York Themed Variants

New York City has been home some of Marvel Comics’ favorite superheroes like the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Spider-Man. Marvel is releasing 15-themed variant covers in honor of the City that Never Sleeps!

The Marvel superheroes are scattered through New York City; with the Avengers and Fantastic Four’s headquarters in Manhattan, Spider-Man residing in Queens, Daredevil in Hell’s Kitchen, and The X-Men in Westchester.

The news that Marvel was planning New York-themed variant covers was revealed through a New York Times article. “Each cover is carefully considered to make a statement about New York,” said Axel Alonso, the editor in chief of Marvel Comics. The variants are a way of showcasing Marvel’s NYC roots.
