Geeky

Holiday Gift Guide: Action Figures and Collectibles

New chapter in the holiday gift guide!

Here is a list of online retailers* that sell action figures, collectibles, and everything in between:

  1. Entertainment Earth: One word: CHEAP (it doesn’t hurt that there are Black Friday Sales). It is truly a collector’s paradise! They ship to the U.S. and internationally, plus, the site has risk-free shopping (they won’t charge your credit card until the item you have is in stock). Amazed? More info and FAQ’s here.
  2. Toy Wars: Along with action figures and collectibles, this site also sells comics; some cheaper, but most are the standard price ($3.99). The prices here are also cheap (thanks, Black Friday!) They sell statues, paintings, poster, replicas (these are on the expensive side), etc.  Interested? Here is the site’s newsletter for their sales.
  3. Forbidden Planet International: This site is based in the U.K., so you’ll have to bare with the euro money system. This site is a little more on the pricey side (£77.99 equals to 97.12 US dollars). BUT, they do have a store located in New York City (so they do have shipping in the U.S. and has a site of its own here) This site has a really big selection to choose from; be it action figures, collectibles or comics, graphic novels, shirts, video games, etc.
  4. Dork Side Toys: The site is very modest in its web design; meaning that that site doesn’t POP at you with different ads. It makes the shopping experience calmer and less urgent and hectic. This site even has its own eBay store (they seem to be covering all their bases). The prices are low and the selections are good; perfect if this is your first time shopping for geeky merchandise.

*Note: All the online retailers listed take major credit cards.

Of course, if you go through these retailers on this list and you find that they just  don’t fit your needs or you just don’t like them; then go the traditional route: Amazon, Target, Barnes & Nobles, and other stores to find what you are looking for.
