SYNOPSIS: A no-strings-attached, online hook-up turns into a morning-after disaster for twenty-something New Yorkers Megan (Analeigh Tipton) and Alec (Miles Teller). When a paralyzing blizzard hits the city trapping them in Alec’s cramped Brooklyn apartment, they are forced to get to know each other far beyond the confines of a typical one-night stand. Marking the directorial debut of Max Nichols, Two Night Stand is a sexy, romantic comedy about finding love in the digital age. The film also stars Jessica Szohr and Scott Mescudi (aka Kid Cudi).

It’s no easy task for two actors to bear the lion’s share of a film’s dialogue and action alone, but Miles Teller and Analeigh Tipton easily carry the load in Max Nichols’ directorial debut Two Night Stand. Written by first-time screenwriter Mark Hammer, Two Night Stand takes a delightfully candid look at the politics of sex in today’s dating scene through Alec (Teller) and Megan (Tipton), two witty, unaffected, and entirely imperfect twentysomethings.

Like Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail, Alec and Megan also find each other in the digital world — while each is decidedly ISO a one-night stand. After an awkwardly charming e-meet-cute video chat (dubbed the “psycho test”), the duo decide to meet at Alec’s for a night of no-stress-‘cause-we’ll-never-see-each-other-again sex. When the morning-after goes about as well as the night before (hint: not great), the two can’t wait to be their own ones…but Mother Nature has other plans. Trapped in Alec’s apartment by a freak blizzard, these strangers — who might have chosen root canal over being postcoitally marooned together — find that their situation might just be the perfect storm for complete honesty and sexual constructive criticism.

Miles Teller (Alec) with Analeigh Tipton (Megan) in Entertainment One’s upcoming release, TWO NIGHT STAND.

Teller and Tipton show a rare kind of genuine chemistry in this sex-com’s dialogue-heavy narrative. Tipton does a nice job of breaking away from her previous non-confrontational and somewhat submissive characters, tackling the awkward moments with her trademark straight-faced verve. Teller, with his ever-charming smirk-like smile, is unwaveringly amusing and adorable.

When it comes to enjoying this charming and laugh-out-loud funny rom-/sex-com, audiences won’t have to fake anything with Two Night Stand.

Two Night Stand hit select theaters and iTunes on September 26.
