TERMINATOR: GENISYS Revealed on Entertainment Weekly Covers

Entertainment Weekly revealed their latest covers for this week’s issues, showing off the cast of Terminator: Genisys.

According to EW:

[Sarah Connor] was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she’s been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger’s Terminator—an older T-800 she calls “Pops”—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who’s great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.

Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen,” says Ellison. “But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, ‘That’s not what I want to do.’ It’s her decision that drives the story in a very different direction.

Terminator: Genisys is set to release on July 2015 and is supposed to be the first of three planned films from Paramount. The film stars Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as the new Sarah Conner, Jai Courtney (Divergent) as Kyle Reese, Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as John Conner, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, and Matt Smith (Doctor Who).

I, personally, haven’t been following Terminator: Genisys very closely. This is actually my first time hearing about the cast and who they’re playing. Was anyone else taken by surprise by the cast reveal?
