If ever there was a time for you to get on board with Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., it is now. Perhaps you ran across this recap by chance, or maybe you come by every week here to Agents Of Geek to see what you missed, either way this is one show that has grown by leaps and bounds as it progresses nicely into it’s sophomore season. And the introduction of Marvel Comics fan favorite Mockingbird, fantastically played by the mesmerizing Adrianne Palicki, is just icing on an already scrumptious cake. Shall we begin?

HYDRA sets out to frame S.H.I.E.L.D. in this week’s episode for a crime they didn’t commit. And rather than stand idly by, Director Coulson and his team dive head first into clearing their name, in order to stay on the good side of an American military force that still find them suspect following the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

In the meantime, a barter is made with former Agent Ward’s Senator brother. In exchange for handing over Ward to his sibling, the Senator Ward will pull any and all legislation and public shaming of what’s left of the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. The plan comes together, and just as Ward is turned over, he manages to escape by killing all the escorting agents inside the SUV that was to haul him off to his brother. This is how the episode ends, with Ward now on the loose, and we still don’t know if we can trust him, despite all the intel he has given the team since they incarcerated him.

And Agent Simmons tries to reconnect with Fitz, but it’s Fitz who finally gets the opportunity to tell his former partner how he feels since she left him. This relationship, as I have said before, is the heart and soul of this show, and this scene was another rough one to watch. Fitz continues to struggle with his recovery and his anoxic brain injury, and he can’t seem to forgive Simmons for abandoning him when he needed her the most. As a result, she walks out on him…again, and it’s heartbreaking. I’m sure they will reconnect, but this is a tough path to watch them follow in order to get there.

Fans, are you still tuning in every week, ready for the next big reveal? Because next week, we find out about all that alien writing!
