Gamescom 2014: UNTIL DAWN PS4 Announcement Trailer

Until Dawn has made to shift from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4. Originally announced two years ago at Gamescom for PlayStation 3 with PS move support, it was revealed at the Sony conference that Until Dawn will only be on PlayStation 4. Pete Samuels of Supermassive Games took to the PlayStation Blog to explain the two years of silence and reveals the game has been re-designed and rebuilt for the next-gen platform.

“One of the first changes you’ll notice, apart from how much more beautiful it now looks and sounds, is that we’ve moved from first person to third person perspective. This allows a much more cinematic experience for you, so you feel completely immersed in this beautiful but spine-chilling world,” explained Samuels in the blog post.

Changes have also been made to the controls for the new build. Samuels explained they were “overwhelmed by the amount of you that let us know you wanted to play the game with regular DualShock controls, so we took a step back and considered how to make this change. At around that time we started to learn more about PlayStation 4 and the DualShock 4 and so made the decision to make Until Dawn next gen.”

Check out the PlayStation Blog for more details about the Until Dawn creative process.
