SDCC ’14: Experience Cerebro at the X-MEN Booth

This year a new trend for booths and interactive experiences is the inclusion of the burgeoning technology Oculus Rift. While the Legendary “Pilot a Jaeger” experience is already sold out, you can still find Mystique in Cerebro at the X-Men booth #3528.

I was lucky enough to try it today and this was my very first virtual reality experience. You sit in Professor X’s wheelchair, strap on the massive eye-piece and tune out the rest of the world with the help of some Beats By Dre headphones. Once the outside world has been blocked out, you enter Cerebro to hunt down Mystique. She’s hiding someone among all the people dressed up as superheros, supernatural beings and more.

I don’t want to give it all away, but it was a great and fun experience that stood out among all the other options on the floor. You can pick up your time slot when the floor opens on Saturday and Sunday morning – you’ll get a card that will tell you what time to come back to try it, so you don’t have to waste your time waiting in line for hours.

X-Men Days of Future Past is still playing in theaters nationwide and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on October 14, 2014.
