GameInvasion Podcast – Episode 11 – Franchise F@ckups

On this week’s GameInvasion, we look at some classic franchise fuckups. Normally, installments of games get better, more refined (ala Super Mario World), but sometimes there’s a hard turn for the shitpile. We’re looking at you, EA. We talk about EA’s inability to make their own franchises better, in the face of other game companies who tend to improve their franchises or drop them altogether. Also on the chopping block are two of our picks for franchises that royally screwed the pooch: Final Fantasy Tactics and the S.T.AL.K.E.R. series.
We also talk about Nick Weber’s torrid love affair with Community (again), Warhammer chess games, Unreal Tournament getting all democratized, and our mutual reacharound for various modding communities.
Some love for modders fixing stuff done right:
