UNCHARTED 4 Game Director Leaves for Riot Games
Uncharted 4 game director Justin Richmond told IGN that he left Naughty Dog for Riot Games, developer responsible for League of Legends.
“I love the company and the people and know that they will cotninue to create awesome games going forward,” Richmond said of Naughty Dog. “On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can’t wait to be a part of.”
Richmond worked on the last two Uncharted games, Among Thieves and Drake’s Deception. His leaving Naughty Dog rides along the coattails of Amy Hennig’s sudden exit from the game studio. Not to keep a good Naughty Dog down, however, the studio will continue working on Uncharted 4. It will launch on the PS4 despite Hennig and Richmond relinquishing their involvement in the game.
What’s going on at Naughty Dog? Two high profile departures from one studio in a single month. Unlike Hennig, this sounds like Richmond is just leaving to go off and do other things.
