STAR WARS EPISODE VII Begins Filming in May and Other News
We’ve got some new details to share about Star Wars Episode VII. Variety reports that filming will begin this May at London’s Pinewood Studios. It’s also been announced that the film will take place 30 years after Return of the Jedi.
J.J. Abrams is directing the much-anticipated sequel, which will bring back original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill to their legendary roles. Variety also confirmed the news that Adam Driver is set to play the lead villain in the film. They also confirmed that
Disney chief Bob Iger spoke at the annual shareholders meeting in Portland, Oregon, this week. He stated, “I know many of you were hoping for some ‘Star Wars’ news, but it’s really early in the process, so there really isn’t much that I can share with you right now.”
Iger went on to say that “the team is well into pre-production … and from the concept art that I’ve seen so far, ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ really looks amazing,” before adding, “For now, that’s it. I’ll get in trouble if I say more.”
