GameInvasion Podcast – Episode 5 – Sequels

On this week’s episode of GameInvasion, join ScreenInvasion.com’s Video Games Editor Carl Wilhoyte, co-host Nick Hammer, and Katie Hammer as we discuss the Facebook acquisition of Oculus as our topical opener, and then dive into the sticky issue of video game sequels.
Franchises are big money-makers, developers and studio depend on them, often much more than they should. Yet some of the best video games ever made are sequels and rarely does someone get it perfect on the first try. Video games are a cycle of iteration, each new game building on the previous in differing levels, normally improving and refining their mechanics and narrative. We talk about our favorite sequels ever and we collectively choose the Worst Sequel Ever.
We’ll also talk about sequels we want that aren’t out, but we desperately need in our grubby little palms yesterday post-haste! It’s GameInvasion!
