Oscar Watching: Consensus Evades 2013

At the Box Office…

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire took in about $110 million over the five-day holiday, but the big story among Oscar contenders is Frozen. The animated feature front-runner made about $93.6 million and will cross $100 million before the week ends. Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom opened to $84,283 from four locations, disappointing for a five-day total.

Out of the Furnace hits theaters nationwide this weekend after hitting four locations yesterday. Expect a big per-screen average for Inside Llewyn Davis as it gets a four-screen release this weekend.

Check out my Oscar predictions over the next few pages, and feel free to comment.
