Gal Gadot cast as Wonder Woman in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

It’s official, Gal Gadot of  the Fast and the Furious fame will be Wonder Woman in the upcoming and much anticipated Batman Vs. Superman movie.  Gadot proved her ability to keep up in a testosterone fueled film with her role in the Fast and the Furious 4, 5 and 6 as Gisele Harabo.

Zach Snyder‘s statement included the following:

Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.

Gadot has the look to make many a Wonder Woman fan happy to welcome her to the role.  The Israeli actress, model and Miss Israel winner has the dark features and fitness it will take to keep fans of the comic series invested in her on-screen.  Don’t think she’s just a pretty face, though, this woman is tough.  Gadot joined the Israeli army at the age of twenty and is an avid motorcyclist.  Power and beauty are key traits in Wonder Woman’s arsenal and Gadot has these in spades.

This adds another name to the roster for Batman vs. Superman along with Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, so who’s next?  There is speculation that Callan Mulvey is a strong possibility to play the as yet unknown villain in the upcoming film.  So far it seems Snyder and Warner Brothers are two for three, lets see if they can keep it up and regenerate the original excitement that was dashed so early on in the announcement of this film.  DC Comic lovers, there may be hope yet.

Tell us what you think of this latest casting announcement.  What are your hopes for the film?
