DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Gets 4 Posters and Release Date

Fox is finally starting the marketing campaign for the much anticipated Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The movie stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevado, and Judy Greer.

Fox has announced that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is scheduled to be released on July 11th, 2014. Director Matt Reeves has also announced that the first trailer for the film will drop next week, December 18th at 6am PST/9am EST.

The synopsis:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Fox also has posted a short illustrated story giving us a small preview on what happens in the ten year gap between Rise and Dawn. The artwork is fascinating and choatic, resembling edgy murals one would find in a neglected part of town. It’s worth taking a look.
