Live-Action DEAD ISLAND Backwards Trailer
When Techland first released Dead Island in 2011, it gained pretty good reviews from critics, obtaining exceptional scores across the board on Metacritic. For a new IP, such praise is a hard task to accomplish. But before the game was released, Techland showed us probably the most compelling teaser trailer of all time in video games. The teaser, which utilized the backwards form of storytelling, garnered over 2.5 million views in the first five days, and it caught the attention, as well as universal praise, of gaming and mainstream media outlets.
Today Machinima and director BJ McDonnell released a shot-for-shot live action short of that same teaser trailer, music and all. It’s just as brilliant as when we first saw it two years ago. Get ready for the tear-jerking. This is a sad one.
Warning: This video is graphic and may not be suitable for all ages, or for the faint of heart.
