This Week in Music Releases – October 1, 2013

JT’s new album might overshadow the government shut-down, but there are also some other music releases of note this week.

As you all probably already know, triple-threat Justin Timberlake has released the second part of his 20/20 Experience duology.

The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 continues the project with eleven new tracks.

The deluxe edition of British pop sensation Birdy’s second album drops this week.

Fire Within (Deluxe Edition) is the follow-up to her self-titled debut album, released last year.

Moby is back with another album, released yesterday.

Innocents (Deluxe Edition) features a long list of collaborators, including Skylar Grey and Wayne Coyne from the Flaming Lips.

Interesting re-releases, vinyls, and box sets this week include The Smith Tapes –  journalist Howard Smith’s interviews with Jerry Garcia and Lou Reed, Phish’s Junta (Deluxe 3-LP set), and Cabaret Voltaire’s Red Mecca (vinyl).

Happy listening!
