Hey there, listeners!

Innovative artist and trendsetter Janelle Monae is releasing the next installment of her Cindi Mayweather saga.

The Electric Lady contains the fourth and fifth suites of Monae’s  futuristic project, in which she explores race, sexuality, and, above all, music.  It sounds heavy, but Monae’s known for mixing complex ideas with fantastic beats.

If you’re a fan of quirky British indie-rock, look no further.

The Arctic Monkeys have a new release this week.  AM is the band’s fifth studio release.

Chicago punkrockers Rise Against have a treat for their fans this week.

Long Forgotten Songs: B-Sides & Covers 2000-2013 is just what it says on the can: covers, unreleased tracks, and a bunch of other goodies from the start of the new millennium to now.

Finally, soulful singer-songwriter Ben Rector’s third album also drops this week.

The Walking In Between is a followup to his 2011 independent release, Something Like This.

There’s also an important box set release happening this week.  If you’re a collector, be on the lookout for The Clash’s Sound System, a comprehensive collection of the band’s core material, with some bonus goodies.

Happy listening!
