Every summer since 2010, Adult Swim and Williams Street Records have released a batch of new singles. One a week, for a few weeks, with brand new songs from the most important artists out there at that moment. 2010 had Black Lips, Cults, and a massive new Madvillain track. 2011 got a taste of a brand new, absolutely brilliant El-P album, new Best Coast, Mastodon, Clams Casino, and How to Dress Well. 2012 was a year in music absolutely dominated by talk and two albums by Death Grips, so of course the program got a sort-of-self-titled track by the group along with new Wye Oak, Wavves, Com Truise, Flying Lotus/Captain Murphy with Earl Sweatshirt, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.

2013 is no different. Adult Swim Singles 2013 will begin this coming Monday, June 10th, and it will run for 15 weeks. New music, new artwork (and the artwork so far is some of the best yet), new free stuff, a new soundtrack to your summer.

What kind of stuff we’ll see this year is unknown, except for one thing: new stuff from El-P and Killer Mike as part of their collaborative Run The Jewels project, which will have a free full album (plus a deluxe, limited edition 2xLP vinyl release as well) dropping later this month via Fools Gold. You can hit up the Run The Jewels site over on Fools Gold’s website to hear Banana Clipper from the album, plus tour dates, since they’ll be out there touring to support the release all summer.

The 2013 Adult Swim Singles will include a new track, never before heard, from Run The Jewels entitled 36″ Chain. You can download the track on Monday for free, but you can hear it right now, over on Complex

Keep an eye on starting this Monday for 36″ Chain, and then every Monday for the next 15 weeks for new, free music thanks to Williams Street Records.

Happy Summer.
