THE HANGOVER 3 Spoiler Forum – What Did You Think?

I happen to be a huge fan of the The Hangover films, and believe that there has not been a funnier R-rated comedy franchise in the past decade . The chemistry between Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha is fantastic, and hard to replicate. It also helps that despite the outlandish adventures that The Wolfpack get into, the characters are ones that are easy to relate to. Each of us likely knows someone that reminds us of Stu, Phil or Alan.

The Hangover franchise has made over a billion dollars at the box office, $1,048,948,217 to be exact. You would think that when movies bring in that kind of money, that everyone loves the franchise, but that is far from the truth. Despite fans enjoying the films, film critics have not been as receptive. Since comedy is very subjective, it is no surprise that The Hangover franchise is one that you either love or hate.

I was let down by The Hangover 3, and consider it to be one of of the worst films in the franchise. Keep reading to learn why I feel this way and share your thoughts on The Hangover 3 in the comments.

The Hangover 3 is the least funny film in the Franchise:

It is one of the darkest films of the franchise. a total of three people get shot and killed during the movie. Don’t worry, no one killed Alan, even though many may have wanted to. John Goodman plays Marshall, the villain in this film. His character kills Black Doug (Mike Epps) for being an inept Head of Security. Then later in the film Mr. Chow (Jeong) kills Marshall and his Henchman.

Alan is not as Funny:

Alan is “Off His Meds” and is almost sent to a Treatment and Recovery facility in the beginning of the film. That is not the only thing that is off with Alan, his character is typically the funniest in the Wolfpack. There are funny moments with his character in The Hangover 3, but the overall comedic tone was majorly lackluster.

No Mike Tyson:

Mike Tyson is seriously not in this movie!  That is a shame. I guess that Todd Phillips decided to include Melissa McCarthy, and that used up the budget. I would have loved to have seen Tyson in some way. His character could have easily been included in the scene after the credits even. Alas, there is no Mike Tyson.
