FINDING DORY to Hit Theaters November 2015
After 10 years, Disney Pixar is finally giving us what we all wanted – Finding Dory the Finding Nemo sequel is happening in 2015.
Announcements were made today by Dory herself, Ellen Degeneres. The film has already been given a release date of November 25, 2015. In a press release from Disney, Degeneres has nothing but positive and humorous things to say about the announcement:
I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time. I’m not made it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is-it’s got a lot more Dory.
Andrew Stanton, who directed the Oscar Winning Finding Nemo will be back again to direct Finding Dory. According to Stanton, Dory will take place a year after the events of the first film. Favorites from the original film Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang will all be returning to the sequel as well as a handful of new characters that will play major roles in Dory’s life in the sequel.
After winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2003, Finding Nemo was one of the most memorable and successful Pixar films to hit the big screen. I have no doubt in my mind that the sequel will be just as memorable and everlasting.
Finding Dory is set to hit theaters November 25, 2015.
