Steven Soderbergh‘s last theatrical film, Side Effectsreceived some mixed reviews. For such a talented director, many were concerned that since that was his last film before retirement, he would be going out on a down note. However, his HBO movie Behind The Candelabra looks like it could be a good swan song for his career (or at least until he comes out retirement after a while).

Starring Matt Damon and Michael Douglas, the film was considered “too gay” for major motion picture studios which is how it ended up on HBO’s door step. And from the looks of it, it’s going to be fabulous. The Liberace film is dripping with style – so much sequin, lace, and gold! – and drama. The “I want him to look like this” moment was pretty spectacular out of contest, so I can’t wait to see it within the full effect of the film. Don’t take my word for it, watch the trailer for yourself below.

Kristal Bailey

With a soft spot for movies that fall into the “So Bad They’re Good” category, Kristal Bailey regularly watches B-movies, 80s comedies, and sci-fi from the 50s and 60s. She also refuses to grow up if that means she has to hide her love for Disney and Pixar films.

In her free time, she enjoys reading graphic novels or books that are soon to be turned into movies, watching hours and hours of television, and spending way too much time on Twitter.
