New ZERO DARK THIRTY Trailer Highlights Chastain

The cinematic hunt for Bin Laden is fast approaching in Zero Dark Thirty and a new trailer for the spy-thriller has just been released.  Riding the buzz from the recently announced Golden Globe nominations, this trailer focuses on Jessica Chastain’s CIA Agent Maya and her mission to find the infamous terrorist.   With so many shots of Chastain’s strained scowl, this trailer spins a rather more personal take on the film.  We also get a better idea of what kind of opposition she faces, and while we all know how the saga concludes (baring any major historical revisions), the trailer is still able to showcase the suspense and thrills the film hopes to deliver.

Chastain getting shot at puts the action in a far more tangible zone.  The danger is real and it’s personal.  This hunt doesn’t come without consequences.  It’s also worth mentioning that Osama is only mentioned once by name, distancing this trailer from the far more ‘true events’ heavy previous teaser- an indication that the characters and story remain front and center, even in a film about the “Greatest Man Hunt in History”.

Zero Dark Thirty opens to limited release on December 19 and wide release on January 11, 2013.

What do you think?  How does this trailer stack up against the others?
