Four Must-See Movies in November

Each month I pick movies that are the must-see, cream of the crop. They’ll either be films coming out in theaters that week or something on Netflix I think that’s worth the watch. The top four films for the month will be ones that have the a lot of buzz, an interesting storyline and a cast that will definitely make the film great. We know not everyone has time for every major release or big movie, so instead of featuring 10 great films a month, these are truly the ones that cannot be missed. The month of November has plenty of great films, with a lot of them earning lots of buzz for awards season this year.

If you do check out anything I’ve spotlighted or a movie I didn’t spotlight, tell us about it in the comments section!

Week 1:
Flight. Out in theaters November 2nd, directed by Robert Zemeckis, this film is getting buzz! Its synopsis is “A pilot with a substance-abuse problem has to land a crippled airliner in this Robert Zemeckis-directed drama for Paramount Pictures. Real Steel’s John Gatins provides the script. Denzel Washington heads up a cast that includes The Hurt Locker’s Brian Geraghty, along with John Goodman and Don Cheadle.” It looks like the film is going to be great! Great storyline, director and actors.

Week 2:
Lincoln. Out in theaters November 9th, directed by Steven Spielberg, this film is getting buzz and sure to get many nominations come awards season! The films synopsis is “Steven Spielberg directs two-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis in ‘Lincoln,’ a revealing drama that focuses on the 16th President’s tumultuous final months in office. In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come.” It also stars, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Sally Fields. Daniel Day-Lewis is one of my all time favorite actors, I’m incredibly excited to see this film.

Winning awards at movie festivals and many critics say this film is definitely a front runner for picture of the year as well as best actress and actor nominations. The synopsis of the film is “Life doesn’t always go according to plan…Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) has lost everything — his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother (Jacki Weaver) and father (Robert DeNiro) after spending eight months in a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat’s parents want is for him to get back on his feet – and to share their family’s obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he’ll do something very important for her in return.
