SNL Highlight: Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Monologue Inspired By MAGIC MIKE

I wasn’t going to do a highlight post this week for Saturday Night Live. The episode was overall pretty weak, despite the dapper young host’s best effort and enthusiasm. Plus, the two moments I would have highlighted suffered from “one-time use” music license issues so they weren’t online. Luckily, I guess someone over at NBC wised up and renegotiated that since they just got the monologue online!

Watch Joseph Gordon-Levitt demonstrate what he learned from his friendship with Channing Tatum, star of Magic Mike:

My favorite moment, obviously besides the dance moves and JGL himself, is when Bobby Moynihan takes off his vest to reveal the same vest underneath.

What did you think of JGL’s hosting stint?

With a soft spot for movies that fall into the “So Bad They’re Good” category, Kristal Bailey regularly watches B-movies, 80s comedies, and sci-fi from the 50s and 60s. She also refuses to grow up if that means she has to hide her love for Disney and Pixar films.

In her free time, she enjoys reading graphic novels or books that are soon to be turned into movies, watching hours and hours of television, and spending way too much time on Twitter.
