IDENTITY THIEF Trailer Starring Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman

An unexpected comedy matchup between Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman gives us a funny looking movie, Identity Thief. Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon returns with this upcoming comedy that also stars Jon Favreau, Amanda Peet, Genesis Rodriguez, John Cho, Robert Patrick and Eric Stonestreet. Horrible Bosses was one of my favorite comedies back in the summer of 2011 so I expect nothing less than pure hilarity from Identity Thief.  The trailer doesn’t disappoint and looks like it will live up to Gordon’s previous film. Check out the trailer below:

McCarthy’s character doesn’t appear to be a criminal but in fact has stolen Bateman’s character’s identity. In doing so, she has virtually maxed out his credit cards. Batemen decides to take action into his own hands and drive from Colorado to Florida to confront the thief in person. Insanity seems to ensue after that.

Identity Thief hits theaters February 8th which is typically when a lot of movie fodder is released before the major blockbusters, but I have a feeling this will be a good surprise comedy towards the beginning of 2013.
