THIS IS 40: New Theatrical Trailer

Universal Studios released a new trailer today for Judd Apatow’s upcoming film This Is 40.  If you aren’t aware this is Apatow’s ‘sort of sequel’ to Knocked UpThis Is 40 stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann as they repeat their roles as Pete and Debbie set a few years after the events of Knocked Up.  The new film mainly focuses on their struggles of marriage and hitting the dreaded ’40 years old’.

The new trailer released by Yahoo Movies was a little longer than our last teaser and really gives an insight on the cast and what this movie is going to bring.  We get to see the well known chemistry between Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann.  We also got to see a short shot of Albert Brooks, who is playing Rudd’s father in the film.  We see a lot of signature Judd Apatow dialogue that make his movies stand apart from other comedies.  And to top things off there is a scene of Megan Fox in a bra.

Jason Segal will be returning to the cast as well as a few of Apatow’s signature actors that have played cameos in plenty of his films and some that aren’t but have been quite hilarious in other comedic roles.  The one that stood out the most was Melissa McCarthy, who stole the show in her Oscar Nominated role in Bridesmaids.  Some of the ‘Apatow regulars’ include: Charlyne Yi, Tim Bagley, and of course his daughters Maude and Iris.

This looks like it’ll be a nice non-traditional holiday comedy this year.  This film has a lot to live up to being a somewhat of a sequel to Knocked Up.  From the trailer itself, it looks like it’s going to be an awesome comedy.  Apatow has never disappointed me, and he’s great at giving gut-busting laughs but also being light-hearted at the same time.

This Is 40 hits trailers four days before Christmas on Dec. 21.  Tell us your thoughts, and watch the trailer below.
