DOWNTON ABBEY: First Series 3 Footage Released!

The first footage from Downton Abbey Series 3 aired during TV Land’s 40th AFI Life Achievement Award presentation, honoring Shirley MacLaine, this past Sunday. MacLaine plays Lady Cora Crawley’s (Elizabeth McGovern) mother, Martha Levinson…and apparently does it so well that McGovern would be overjoyed by a repeat performance.

The video is unfortunately shaky, by my excitement is hardly diminished. (The HuffPostTV posted a better quality, but shorter, video here.) In this brief clip, we see the first meeting of the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) and Martha (MacLaine).

Downton Abbey Series 3 airs in September 2012 in the U.K. and January 2013 in the U.S. (on PBS). I’ll be watching…will you?
