ROCK OF AGES Trailer: Tom Cruise Sings Bon Jovi

A new trailer has been released for the film adaption of Broadway musical Rock of Ages.  This second trailer is packed with a lot more music than the first, making for a more exciting trailer.  We also get a preview in the trailer of what Tom Cruise sounds like singing 80’s rock.  He sounded surprisingly well blasting Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive.  There are also shots of other performances from Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Russell Brand.  From the looks of these trailers this film could be a very enjoyable experience or  another corny musical.  With this cast my money is leaning toward a fun time.

Rock of Ages is set in 1987 Los Angeles and follows Drew (Diego Boneta) and Sherrie (Hough) as two young musicians trying to make their way to fame in the industry.  After love at first sight strikes up a romance between the two, their love story is told through 80’s rock hits from bands such as: Journey, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, Whitesnake, and many others.

Rock of Ages is directed by Adam Shankman who also directed Hairspray.  The film also has some great writers in Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder), Chris D’Arienzo, who created the musical, and Allan Loeb (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps).  Rock of Ages hits theaters June 15.  Watch the trailer below and tell us your thoughts!
