Music Monday: “You Send Me” by Caught a Ghost (Sam Cooke Cover)

Every Monday, we highlight one song that you may not have heard of, may not have heard in ages, or one that we just can’t seem to get out of our heads. Enjoy!

In anticipation of their upcoming residency at Satellite in May, Caught a Ghost has released an inventive cover of Sam Cooke’s “You Send Me.”

The track can be downloaded for free on their official website.

Caught A Ghost is a new project from Los Angeles songwriter and producer Jesse Nolan. Featuring Nolan’s kindergarten classmate Stephen Edelstein on drums and sultry vocals and percussions from actress Tessa Thompson (Veronica Mars), the band offers listeners a modern take on blue-eyed soul, blending elements of classic Motown compositions with influences from dubstep, 90s rap, and contemporary electronica.

It’s a interesting blend of genres, but somehow it works!
