STEPS BROTHERS 2: More Time For Activities!

Oh man. I woke up today to some exciting news. I thought that I had my fill of movie news for the week when I saw the new Avengers Trailer earlier this week, but then I saw this article on Collider.

The sad part is that most people are going to see the title, and be immediately dissapointed. Anchorman is a cult classic. Its a great movie, but for me, I’m just not a HUGE fan. Personally, I would take 40 Year Old Virgin, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and well Step Brothers any day of the week. And speaking of that, we have the amazing news after the Anchorman bomb that Will Ferrell is writing Step Brothers 2, which put a big smile on my face.

I absolutely loved Step Brothers. Its a movie that I feel gets lost in the shuffle when you think of classic Will Ferrell movies. Most of the time, you think of Anchorman, Old School, Talladega Nights, and then maybe, maybe, Step Brothers is next. Its too bad, because every time I watch that movie, I find something new that is just utterly brilliant about it.

You have the two main guys, who obviously had their incredible chemistry, but its the side characters that I love about this movie. Adam Scott and his family could have their own movie, and I would see that opening day. Richard Jenkins is hilarious as the supportive, crazy dad. And I mean, do I need to say anymore then the Catalina Wine Mixer?

I hope that this gets you more excited about Step Brothers 2, and less disappointed about the death of Anchorman 2. Ferrell is going to start writing it soon, and they are planning on shooting in the fall, so we will have to wait a while before the finished product comes to a theater near you.  But, if I can wait for the Dark Knight Rises, I can wait for pretty much anything.
