THE EXPENDABLES 2 – PG-13 Rating Confirmed By Sylvester Stallone
I have been excited for The Expendables 2 since it was first announced. After watching the first film, I thought that the cast and adrenaline-fueled-machismo could not get anymore explosive. That was before casting got underway for the sequel, and the promise of seeing Sylvester Stallone, Jean Claude Van-Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Liam Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris and Bruce Willis on screen together.
A rumor began spreading the web yesterday that Expendables 2 would receive a PG-13 rating because of Chuck Norris. Today there is some confirmation from Stallone himself. The film WILL be PG-13, and here is what Sly had to say about it to Harry Knowles from AICN:
Harry, the film is fantastic with Van Damme turning in an inspired performance… Our final battle is one for the ages. The PG13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry…Sly
Here is the synopsis:
Barney Ross (Stallone), Lee Christmas (Statham), Yin Yang (Li), Gunnar Jensen (Lundgren), Toll Road (Couture), and Hale Caesar (Crews) – with the newest members Bill the Kid (Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu) aboard – are reunited when Mr. Church (Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time—six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that’s nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother.
This is done the Expendables way…..
