Steven Van Zandt stars in Netflix original LILYHAMMER

Ex-SOPRANOS star Steven Van Zandt will be starring in the Netflix original series, LILYHAMMER, coming to members of the instant streaming service next month.  Van Zandt will play Frank “The Fixer” Tagliano, a former mobster who requests to be relocated to Lilyhammer, Norway while in the FBI witness protection program after giving up his boss to the feds.  After seeing the lovely town play host to the 1994 Olympic Games, Tagliano chooses Lilyhammer to live thinking he will love life there.  He soon realizes it won’t be as easy as he thought.

Developed by Rubicon TV AS, creators Anne Bjornstad and Eilif Skodvin penned the project alongside Van Zandt, who also serves as an executive producer.

Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said this in a statement:

Lilyhammer is a well-observed, funny and occasionally brutal story of culture clash, focused on Stevie’s inimitable portrayal of an East Coast mobster. We’re proud to introduce this terrific original series exclusively to our members. If you love the first episode, there is no need to wait until next week, or to set a DVR, to catch the next one.”

He started writing film reviews just over a year ago and became a movie buff even further back than that.
