Ralph Fiennes to be the new M in SKYFALL

News recently surfaced that Ralph Fiennes will be replacing Judi Dench’s character, M, in the new 007 film, SKYFALL. The official statement is as follows: “Ralph Fiennes play’s a government agent, which we never get a name on, because he is set to play the new M.”
A little vague as in telling us is Fiennes character of M will be different from Dench’s character of M. I guess we could say we saw this coming? Judi Dench is on the older side but to me that doesn’t seem like a reason to leave a franchise. It most likely is that she thinks she has taken her character of M as far as she can and wants to move on to other projects. I think Ralph Fiennes will come in and do a fantastic job. I am a fan of his work as Voldemort in the HARRY POTTER movie franchise. Fiennes addition to SKYFALL makes the cast just that much greater. I am interested in seeing some footage of him on screen with Daniel Craig, who plays 007. The film also stars Helen McCrory and Javier Bardem and is directed by Sam Mendes.
I saw that 007.com is also doing something in line with what Peter Jackson has been doing for THE HOBBIT. I posted the video below, but it sounds as if the producers for SKYFALL will be posting video blogs of the production leading up to the release of the film. As a film nerd, this couldn’t excite me more! I have loved Peter Jackson’s video blogs from the set of THE HOBBIT and I am hoping the forthcoming video blogs from SKYFALL are just as good and as insightful.
SKYFALL is set to hit theaters November 9, 2012:
