ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT returning with 10 episodes and a movie

A big announcement was made today at the New Yorker festival during the “Bluth Family Reunion” panel.  Arrested Development  will be returning to make us laugh.  First we will be given a 10 episode run on television which then will be followed by the long anticipated movie.   Series creator Mitch Huwitz stated that he is already half finished the film script.

Each of the 10 episodes will focus on one character only and what they have been up to for the last five years.  All the episodes will lead up to the beginning of the movie.

Jason Bateman was on twitter stating that he expects the movie to be released for 2013.  “It’s true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early ’13. VERY excited!”The only hurdle left is securing a network to air the show. All these negotiations are still in progress.  I am very excited for the new episodes and the new format. It sort of reminds me of Skins UK with a featured player each week.
