A whole new generation of Bay Area artists is stirring up the popular music scene with their fresh new beats and attitude. Artists like Dev, The Cataracs, Kreayshawn and Wallpaper are all hailing from Northern California and are on the verge of big things. Emerging hip pop star K.Flay is the next big hip pop phenom to rise from the Bay Area and impress audiences with a unique sound of her own.

Combining brainpower, beats and beauty, K.Flay gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “girl power.” She is an independent thinker, thoughtful lyricist, skilled MC and a striking performer who easily trumps some of her contemporaries with her smarts and savvy.

Flay recorded a few mixtapes and shared those with friends, which ultimately led to high-profile gigs with Passion Pit, 3oh!3 and Travie McCoy. She released her debut EP late last year and she just put a three part series of EPs, titled I Stopped Caring in ’96 to further build her fan base. She is also featured on the STUPiDFACCED EP by pal, Wallpaper.

With a growing scene around her music, representation by CAA and major endorsement deals with Samsung and Intel, Flay is clearly on her way up by stirring a groundswell of interest. Get a taste for K.Flay and download a totally-guilt free MP3 of her grinding reflip of Magnetic Man’s soaring club stomper “Anthemic”.

Jessi was born and raised in Chicago, but she left her heart in NYC. She has been to more concerts than days of school, but somehow still made her way to university. Her idea of fun is an evening of karaoke to the worst songs of the '90s while a lit cigarette lies burning in the corner. She used to refer to herself as an "aspiring music journalist" but one day, she just woke up and decided she was one. That being said, she's always writing and always hungry for more.
