Tom Hanks Officially Starring In TRIPLE FRONTIER For Kathryn Bigelow
It’s official, Tom Hanks will star in Triple Frontier!
Hanks has officially joined the cast of Kathryn Bigelow‘s next film Triple Frontier. Charles Roven confirmed the casting news. In a recent interview with ComingSoon he stated:
“Tom Hanks is starring in the film, and we’re still looking to cast the other roles. We’re hoping to start shooting the movie sometime in mid-March.”
Triple Frontier will be Bigelow’s first film since she made the Academy Award winning film The Hurt Locker. The setting for the story is the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, which is a haven for organized crime, and centers on five men of various ages working in the zone.
There was news that the film would be retitled to Sleeping Dogs, but the producer referenced the film by it’s original title Triple Frontier. So I guess the jury is still out on if the title has been changed or not.
Hanks being cast in the lead role is great news in my opinion. Not only is he one of my favorite actors, he just seems like an all around class act. I am excited to see him take on this role under the director of Bigelow. What are your thoughts of the casting news?
